When I wanted to put an addition on my house, there was only one person for the job, Tim. I've worked with Tim on past projects (deck, window and door installation) and was very pleased with the results. Tim and his crew were professional, timely, neat and paid attention to details. We have an older home that was built about 1913 and have lived here 45 years. Our last three projects have been with Tim Hulick of Finishing Touches and we would like to tell you about them.
The first project was to replace three short windows in our dining room with a bay window and a window seat. The eight foot width remained the same but the height was made exactly like another window in the room that was nearly seven foot high.
The second project before our retirement was the last major thing on our “to-do” list and that was a new garage with a paved driveway and PVC fencing. Since our home has two porches and a deck we needed a garage with a loft so that we could have a place to store all our outdoor furniture. We wanted the garage to have the same pitch roof as our house with windows in the loft to match our attic windows on the house. I also wanted a cupola with a weather vane. My husband said the only way he’d agree to this project was if Tim Hulick would build it for us and “WOW” what a job he built! People were driving by constantly to see it.
The third project was a small job but we wanted a roof over our basement door. We wanted it the same style as the front porch with the brackets that matched. This year we are going to try out some of the new composite decking material on our front porch floor.
We cannot say enough good things about Tim and Finishing Touches. At our age I don’t think we’d even consider any other projects without him doing the work for us. We love it when Tim’s around because it is such a pleasure to work with him. He is very dependable, comes when he says he will, gets in and out on a timely basis, cleans-up and has a great “finishing touch” in matching windows, trim work and style.
Our bay window, garage and side porch is everything we wanted them to be. We’ve had so many compliments on how nice they look with our house. We have recommended Tim to everyone we know because we think he is the best person for any contracting job.

Finishing Touches transformed a 1970’s-era bathroom in our 1917 home into one that is historically sensitive. From the built-in storage cabinets to the intricate tile work and the nickel plumbing fixtures, care was taken to get the details right.
Tim Hulick is easy to work with, communicates well, and is knowledgeable about historical styles. We appreciated his professional judgment on the practicality and aesthetic appeal of our choices. He uses excellent subcontractors, several of whom we have subsequently hired for miscellaneous projects in our home. We can attest to the fact that he and his workers maintain a clean job site so that there is minimal interruption to the rest of the living space.
We intend to call Finishing Touches again for future projects. In fact, Tim will be building a buffet in our dining room in the near future! view gallery
We have had Finishing Touches do several projects at our home. The quality of their work and attention to detail is outstanding! We felt very comfortable having them and their sub-contractors, in our house working when we were not there. When we have home remodeling projects in the future, we will not be using anyone else!
